Peasant Life

The simple life of the farmers in the Black Forest can be discovered in originally furnished rooms, notably a bedroom and farm workshops. The museum also gives an answer to the question of how the rooms were lit before electricity was available and what the real function of the canopy above the bed was. Did it have a religious meaning or rather was it designed to keep off the pests and dust falling from the ceiling?

Furthermore, you will discover the technical skills and the ingeniousness of the local people, and also the hard work they had to endure to earn their living.
